This album is the culmination of international talent brought together in Berlin Germany's unique creative stew. The dance performance was originally conceived by Pamela Moraga Mellado in her home country of Chile.
Once in Berlin, Pamela sought to recreate this performance in new surroundings with fresh perspectives and input. She found this in Lukas Hamm, a resident artist, engineer, and local music activist.
Upon return to the city, I asked Lukas, a friend from a previous visit, about any potentially interesting projects going on at the time. When he mentioned the dance project I was immediately intrigued.
Within a very short time frame, about 10 days, we completed the work; developing on some tracks Lukas had been working on while also creating new compositions.
Neither Lukas nor I had ever written music for dance before. But with a generous portion of input and critiques from Pamela, we fashioned tonal landscapes that fit the dance pieces to a "T".
I am very proud of this work and am deeply honored to have been a part of it.
