Where to begin.....In a time long ago (just like today) there were strange creatures skittering about in the underbrush making music and art that came from deep within their souls. Some of us even still believed, against all odds, that we had something to say and a right to do so. We toiled in obscurity and most of us stayed there never getting out into the larger consumer world. Most, like me, couldn't figure out how to be committed artists and have a full life. Many got caught up in drugs and burned out or died. Many of us lost our minds, our ways, or just faded out.
I tried to keep active while also maintaining a connection with a world outside of art - could never make the two work together. I chose being an adult with responsibilities. Soon after this collection and the following "Grand Illusions" recording were completed, I left music for about 15 years.
These songs were created with early digital machines on a 4 track tape recorder. The cassettes sheltered in a box, moving here and there, finally settling in a garage for a few decades before I even dared to listen. With earnest efforts, I've attempted to bring some life back to these lost artifacts from my past.
Please forgive the hiss and weird track balance. Some was from the era and some from my own limitations.
These songs are archival evidence of my ongoing efforts to create sounds that have meaning.
